I won a battle last night, one that I have fought before and rarely been victorious. The battle of the binge.
I had eaten well all day and finished my dinner about an hour before it happened. I was in the middle of New Girl (If you haven’t watched it, stop what you’re doing right now and stream an episode. You won’t regret it), and I got a sudden urge for cake. This may not seem odd to you, but it was pretty weird to me. Not the craving part, of course, but exactly what I was craving. Although I enjoy cake when I have it, it isn’t something that I would go out of my way for. I’m more of a brownie and cookie kind of girl (read: chocoholic). I was specifically craving a layered white cake with ooey gooey frosting. Something like this.
(Sidenote: I should probably not be allowed on Pinterest after dinner.)
This also wasn’t a normal sized craving. I was seriously considering driving to Wal-Mart and buying whatever leftover cake they had at the bakery. Pretty sad.
Since I’m really lazy, however, I attempted to find a replacement in my kitchen. Leftover brown rice was the only thing that sounded good enough to replace that cake. I even put the rice in the microwave.
After a few seconds, I took the rice out of the microwave and put it back in the fridge. I really don’t know what happened. Honestly, I don’t. Somehow, this new and improved version of me took over. It was awesome.
I did actually eat something (like I wouldn’t), but it was a heaping spoon of natural peanut butter instead. Surprisingly, I was completely satisfied, and I stayed within my calories for the day. Double score!
It was a bad hair day. Don’t judge.
