Weekend Eats and Winter

Sorry I didn’t post anything about my weekend meals yesterday. I didn’t take any pictures of my food because I didn’t want to make you guys jealous of all of the tasty treats that I enjoyed. That’s a lie. I was too busy stuffing my face with those tasty treats to bother taking pictures. Here’s a little recap:

Friday – Valentine’s Day. Dinner at an Italian restaurant that included pasta, bread, appetizers, and tiramisu. If you follow me on Instagram, you saw that Potter got me specially-ordered chocolates and a bottle of wine as part of my Valentine’s gift. You can bet your sweet butt that those things are gone. Although, they did last until Saturday, which I consider almost heroic self-control on my part.

Saturday. Home for brothers’ birthday celebration. Buffet and deliciousness ensues.

Sunday. Still home. Too lazy to find anything healthy to eat.

I can hear you thinking, “But Kristian, you were doing relatively well! Why would you ruin your progress with all of that food?”

Here’s my answer. Any person who thinks I’m not going to eat pasta and tiramisu on Valentine’s Day is bat-shit crazy. That also goes for a celebration buffet. With that being said, the only eating that I regret is Sunday’s. As long as I don’t indulge every week or even every time I eat out, I think it will be fine.

On another note,

You may have noticed that I haven’t mentioned exercise in quite some time, and there’s a reason for that. Not a very good reason but a reason nonetheless. Basically, I hate winter. The only things that I actually enjoy about winter are snow days, Christmas (duh), and baggy clothing. It is extremely difficult for me to get motivated to work out in the winter. Something about so much darkness really brings down my mood. I can usually get out of this mini-funk fairly easily after Christmas and New Year’s. Not this time. Unfortunately, Indiana winter has been particularly cruel this year.

Walking to the gym is no bueno, and everyone’s always like ‘get your workout on at home!” I don’t know about you, but trying to exercise next to my warm, comfy bed with all of my fluffy blankets is basically torture.

Do I have plans to start working out anytime soon? I should, but honestly, it probably won’t happen until it gets consistently warmer. In the meantime, I have been focusing on my food, which is really my problem anyway.
