Sorry I missed the Weekend Eats post yesterday. I usually start the weekend really well with the picture-taking, but then Saturday night usually rolls around and I forget (or just don’t feel like it). Apologies.
Recap: I made homemade pizza! It was delicious. That’s about it.
Now onto what I really want to talk about – more food.
If you’ve been reading this thing for any amount of time, you’ve probably realized that food is a major issue for me. Not only the types of food but the portion sizes. Give me a choice between a slice of decadent Godiva chocolate cheesecake (I’m looking at you, Amy) or five chocolate chip cookies. You can bet your ass I’m going for the cookies every time. Quantity over quality in my book.
I talked here about how I’ve been having some success with counting my calories. Well, I fell off that wagon and hit the ground. Hard. It started with Valentine’s Day and turned into the entire weekend. Then the evil sinus sickness took me. Then I just didn’t feel like it anymore. If you’ve ever counted your calories for any length of time, you probably know what I’m talking about. For all of you who haven’t done it, let me tell you how it is.
Calorie counting is something that I definitely do not want to do for the rest of my life. It just isn’t realistic for me. Enter: moderation. A bitch of a word, but one that I terribly want to implement in my life. I’m officially trying it out for the week, so I might be right back on that calorie counting wagon by this time next week.
If you’d like to read another interesting post on moderation, check out Amanda’s blog. She’s my cousin, and she’s amazing!
Have any of you tried calorie counting vs. moderation? How do you do it?
