Happy Friday! Sorry for my absence this week. My only excuse is Fall Break…but that was only on Monday and Tuesday. Oops.

Now that The Biggest Loser is on again, you must read the following in Alison Sweeney’s voice.

Yes, I gained this week, but I’m perfectly fine with it. Why on earth would I be content with gaining weight you ask? First, it’s only 0.2 pounds. Second, I enjoyed the hell out of my Fall Break. It may or may not have included two straight days of Chinese food and an entire frozen pizza to myself. I’m not mad about it. Third, I’m choosing to look at the big picture here – shocking, I know. I’m at my lowest weight since last year at this time, and I’ve lost the crap-ton of weight that I gained over the summer. This girl is a happy camper.

Since the scale isn’t everything, I’ve decided to do my measurements as well. Maybe it will give me a more accurate picture of how I’m doing. Here are my starting measurements:

Sorry for the lack of posts lately! Much has happened in the past three weeks. My internship ended, I took a much-needed break, I moved back to school, and I completed the first few days of classes! Did I record any of those events with pictures? Sadly, no. You’ll just have to take my word for it.

Weigh-In 07/26/13

As you may have noticed, I have not discussed my actual weight in quite some time. This is because I gained back the few pounds I had lost and then some in exactly the way I talk about here. Luckily, I’ve snapped out of that and have lost about half of the weight I have gained this summer. The number still isn’t particularly good, but it’s better than it was. This is why I’ve decided to do weigh-ins again! I know you guys have just been on the edges of your seats, waiting for me to do another weigh-in. Also, it’s been exactly three months since my last weigh-in, which is an anniversary that I can’t ignore.

Previous weight (from three months ago): 176
Current weight: 179.2
Total loss: +3.2

I’m not doing any weigh-in pictures today because the results of 30 Day Shred will be posted next week, and I don’t want to ruin the surprise!

Weigh-In 04/26/13

This less-than-stellar weight loss is brought to you by overindulgence last weekend. I kicked ass for the last three days to make up for it, which is why I’m happy for a loss at all. Even though there wasn’t much of a difference on the scale, I could see a difference when comparing the side photos.

It might just be because I switched from my camera to my phone

or

the lighting is different

or

I need to get my eyes checked.

Maybe, just maybe, I’m actually changing my body. Weight isn’t everything.


On another note, I’ve decided to start doing weekly goals for myself. My goals for the coming week are:

1. Drink at least 80 ounces of water per day.

2. Complete Week 2 of Couch to 5K.

3. Allow myself only one cheat day. (Which is today! Bring on the Mexican food!)

Two weigh-ins in one week? You lucky reader, you.

Starting weight: 177

Current weight: 176.2

Total weight loss: 2.8 pounds

Now, before you go getting all disappointed that I lost less than a pound, look over that again. I did LOSE. That loss came after a junk-filled weekend at home. Kristian, for the win.

I debated whether or not to post pictures after each weigh-in. It’s embarrassing and whatnot. However, in a moment of clarity, I realized that I could care less about what people think of me. Say what?! Middle school me is freaking out at that statement. All joking aside though, if people judge or ridicule me for my appearance, bring it on. Nothing anyone says can be worse than what I’ve said to myself.

Ultimately, this blog is a way for me to record my journey and track my progress. ME. When I achieve my goals, I know I will love going back to see how far I’ve come, and that’s all that really matters.

Weigh-In 04/18/13

I forgot to write about my first weigh-in. My bad.

I used to weigh myself on Mondays. Beginning of the week and all that jazz. Makes sense, right? Well, that’s not happening anymore. This time around, I’m weighing myself on Fridays. Why? If you really want to know, it’s a way for me to cheat. A weekend of self-indulgence and subsequent poundage does not a happy week make. Weighing myself on Friday gives me a few days to make up for whatever havoc I’ve wreaked on my body over the weekend. Sad how well I know myself, right?

My starting weight was 179. My current weight is (or was as of last Friday)… 177!

2 pounds down and quite a bit to go.
